Support Pay It Forward Charity's Mission

Pay It Forward Charity was founded by Tatiana and Stanley Maka after their son spent time in the NICU at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego, California. During that experience they witnessed the heartbreaking reality that many families around them faced — losing their precious babies while simultaneously carrying the financial burden of end of life expenses.

Although they were fortunate to bring their son home, the experience left a permanent mark on their hearts and a commitment they could not ignore. They founded Pay It Forward Charity so that no family in that situation would ever have to worry about cost during the most painful moment of their lives.

NICU Angel Program Pay It Forward Charity provides completely free cremation services to families who lose a baby in the neonatal intensive care unit. We currently serve families at:

• Rady Children's Hospital NICU — San Diego, California
• Palomar Medical Center NICU — Escondido, California

No family at these institutions will ever receive a bill from us. Ever.

Family Assistance Program We provide financial assistance to families throughout San Diego County and beyond who cannot afford dignified cremation or funeral services for a loved one. Assistance is based on need and provided with complete compassion and confidentiality.

Pay It Forward Scholarship In honor of every baby we have served — Pay It Forward Charity awards scholarships to children and young adults pursuing higher education anywhere in the world. We believe that investing in the next generation is one of the most powerful ways to honor the lives that were lost too soon.
